Commercial transport premieres, major contracts, and new vector of industry development a year ahead — results of COMvex 2025

The main federal trade fair for commercial vehicles and technologies, COMvex, took place at the Crocus Expo IEC from May 27 to 30 as part of the synergy of industrial exhibitions under the EXPO brand.

Synergy of industrial exhibitions EXPO

The EXPO synergy spanned the entire Crocus Expo IEC venue, including the outdoor area in front of three pavilions. While CTT Expo highlighted Russia's advancements in construction equipment and technology, COMvex focused on commercial transport, CTO Expo showcased the spare parts and aftermarket services, and Logistika Expo concentrated on logistics, transportation, warehousing, and equipment solutions. Avito Special Equipment served as the general partner for the event.

This year, 1 813 exhibitors from 11 countries gathered, presenting their innovations and offers across an impressive 200 500 sq. m of exhibition space. The organizing team prioritized supporting and expanding the target audience for the EXPO exhibitions.

More than 61% of COMvex 2025 visitors continue to underline the significance of hosting related industry exhibitions at one venue.

The main figures of COMvex 2025

The COMvex 2025 exhibition was held under the patronage of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation, featured 507 exhibitors from six countries: Russia, Belarus, China, Iran, Türkiye, and Uzbekistan. The total exhibition area, including outdoor area, was 64 200 sq. m, once again proving the status of the leading platform for demonstrations of commercial transport, services, and technologies that will define market trends in the forthcoming year.

Special attention was deserved by the wide representation of trailed vehicles that does not have any analogs in their composition. Thanks to a strategic partnership with the Association of Turkish Trailer Manufacturers, eight members of the TREDER foreign association participated, showcasing companies such as Adakon Trailer, BRF Trailer, Çarsan Trailer, Fesan Makina, Nursan Trailer, Orthaus Trailer, Reis Trailer, and Sinanlı Tanker.

The exhibition attracted 37 960 visitors from 24 countries; that confirms the importance of industry events and their value for specialists in the commercial transport market. Notably, 35% of attendees held positions as general and commercial directors, 30% were procurement decision-makers, and 18% were dealers, representing 78 regions across Russia, with the most robust participation from the Volga, Central, Northwestern, Ural, and Southern federal districts.

COMvex was visited by the delegation from the Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation and the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia. The delegation of the Northeastern Administrative District of Moscow and many others.

The point of professional attraction is the business site COMvex Forum, which was visited by 1 429 delegates. This four-day forum facilitated open dialogue among business representatives, manufacturers, industry associations, and research centers, addressing pressing industry challenges such as the implementation of autonomous technologies in commercial transportation and the shift towards a low-carbon economy. Speakers brought up a wide range of topics from technological advancements in vehicle manufacturing and fleet management to innovative marketing strategies for machinery sales in a competitive landscape and new methods for driver motivation and retention. The COMvex Forum partners were the National Association of Freight Road Transport Gruzavtotrans, Analytical Agency Autostat, KAMAZ PTC, Avito Special Equipment Company, International automotive consulting company AUTOBOSS, Association for Safe Driving, Bauman Moscow State Technical University.

Exhibitors’ presentations and results

COMvex 2025 exhibition will go down in history as the first cargo exhibition in Russia, where KAMAZ for the first time showed more new models than the classic K3. Together with the Smolensk plant, the KDM company held a presentation of the combined road machine based on the new generation K5 KAMAZ 6595 6х4 dump truck.

The prospective automaker of heavy cargo vehicles, Romanov JSC, signed agreements with TK LIFT LLC and BETSMA JSC at the COMvex exhibition. These events mark an important step in the development of domestic engineering and strengthen the positions of Russian manufacturers in the market of specialized equipment.

On the first day of the exhibition, the landmark premiere of the 480-horsepower C9H tractor truck took place at the stand of Sinotrak Rus LLC, which was attended by more than 200 people.

Zhang Xiaofan, General Director of Dongfeng Commercial Division and Deputy Managing Director of China Dongfeng Motor Industry Imp. & Exp. Co., Ltd., and Yang Tao personally presented two strategically important novelties to the public — Dongfeng GX Pro 4x2 and Dongfeng KR Pro 4x2.

The Eurotruck company has handed over to the Russian Ski Racing Federation a new 2025 Volvo FH16 780 XXL Aero tractor to transport the athletes' service trailer.

For the first time, a joint project of the Chaika-Service automobile plant and the Modern Transport Technologies company (STT Group of Companies) was presented to the public an all-wheel-drive Sadko 9 chassis in combination with the Chaika TR328 telescopic hydraulic lift. Thanks to technical improvements and thoughtful design, the novelty promises to become the basis for modern special equipment of a new generation.

As part of the COMvex 2025 exhibition, STT Group of Companies also presented new medium-duty trucks: a refrigerator truck on the Valdai 12 chassis, a large-capacity truck for short- and medium-haul transportation, the Valdai 18, and the Valdai 45 powered by alternative fuels.

Minsk Automobile Plant has launched an enhanced environmental focus at COMvex and presented an all-electric garbage truck, the MAZ GTe, for the removal of solid household waste. Serial production of such vehicles with an exotic 6×2-2 wheel formula will begin in 2026.

FOTON company, together with the exclusive distributor MB RUS JSC, presented a whole range of new products that have already aroused great interest among market professionals: a new generation van with a futuristic Foton View design and Foton Tunland G9, V7, and V9 pickups.

Ural Automobile Plant has brought its new Ural-80 medium-duty truck, model 43206-67, to the COMvex exhibition.

The UralSpecTrans plant, which celebrates its 25th anniversary this year, has introduced a new brand of its products — SEVEREST. Among the exhibits were a milk truck with a volume of 27 cubic meters, an oil tanker semi-trailer, a tanker truck for drinking water, and a dump truck semi-trailer.

Smart Trucks, the official dealer of FAW-Eastern Europe, presented at COMvex various types of add-ons based on the FAW Trucks Tiger 6G chassis with an air suspension rear axle.
Orthaus Trailers celebrated its 100th anniversary at COMvex 2025 and showed new 16.5-meter curtain semi-trailers of various concepts.

MAYER Cargoline has prepared a number of bright premieres for the COMvex exhibition: an updated curtain semi-trailer and a new modification of the MAYER Cargoline dump semi-trailer with a 31 cubic meter body.

Jac Automobile presented a new modification of the JAC N200 chassis with a 4x4 wheel formula, which had not previously been supplied to the Russian market; an updated JAC K7 mainline tractor with a "warm package"; CMU on the JAC N120 chassis with a new localized Palfinger crane; and other vehicles.

Contest “The Best Commercial Vehicle of the Year in Russia 2025”
May 27 marked the conclusion of the first day at the exhibition with the grand award ceremony for the prestigious contest “The Best Commercial Vehicle of the Year in Russia 2025.” This event was supported by COMVEX Review magazine as the general information partner for the contest and the COMvex 2025 exhibition.

According to the tradition, among the nominees were only fresh models whose serial release or official sales in the Russian market started no longer than a year ago.

In keeping with tradition, nominees consisted solely of new models that commenced serial production or official sales within the past year. Each nomination's winner received a distinguished award — a golden steering wheel-based on the votes of a respected jury comprising journalists from specialized media outlets. Additionally, diplomas were awarded to winners of the online public voting held on the official competition website, which saw participation from over 3 000 industry professionals this year. New horizons of commercial transport

COMvex 2026 exhibition is set to take place from May 26 to 29 at the Crocus Expo IEC, showcasing the finest advancements in commercial vehicles and technologies from both domestic and international manufacturers.

The next important event on the topic of commercial transport that will be held on August 19-22, 2025, at Crocus Expo IEC is ComAutoTrans. This exhibition will facilitate opportunities that cannot be realized in May due to space constraints. It will create a unique environment where buyers and transport companies can explore the latest technologies but also participate in test drives, combining hands-on experience with exhibition showcases. A noteworthy addition to this event will be the International Bus and Coach Exhibition, AutoBusExpo, occurring concurrently as part of the AutoCluster of industry exhibitions. This unique showcase in Russia dedicated to passenger transport will attract a diverse audience, including both municipal and international bus operators, as well as government ministries responsible for acquiring buses for city and regional needs.
